Chari got her PhD in Genetics and Cellular Biology by the University Complutense de Madrid in 2009. She works as an Instructor in Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School-MEEI, where she studies the role of the Complement System in Macular Degeneration. Dr. Fernández Godino has received numerous awards and has contributed to the ophthalmology field with great innovative discoveries, such as the method to isolate, culture and characterize primary mouse retinal pigment epithelial cells. She has also contributed to divulgate bilingual science as a blogger at MasScience and other websites. She joined IMFAHE as a mentor in 2014, and in 2016 she became Coordinator of Communication of IMFAHE.
